Margaret Newhall Passes Away at 55

Margaret Ann Newhall, 55, passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2022. Margaret was born in Salem on November 7, 1966. She was the daughter of the late John and Noreen (Kiely) Newhall. Margaret is survived by her brother, John, her three aunts, Rosemary Donovan of Wells, ME, Nancy Viselli of Salem, MA, and Kathy Kiely of Salem, MA, her uncle,  retired Lieutenant Colonel Robert Kiely of Aberdeen, MD, and seventeen cousins. She is also survived by her very close friend and ‘unofficial aunt’ Haven McGovern of Salem, MA, and her cat, Declan.

Margaret attended Marblehead schools and was a graduate of Marion Court with a degree in business. She worked for the Department of Social Security for 38 years and she was a lifelong member and involved deeply with the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead. Margaret enjoyed shopping, traveling, going out on her family boat, making silk flower arrangements for friends, and dining out at the Marblehead Yacht Club.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church on Saturday, September 17th at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Drive, Marblehead.   In lieu of flowers, contributions in Margaret’s memory may be made to the Marblehead Animal Shelter, Friends of Marblehead’s Abandoned Animals, 44 Village St., Marblehead, MA 01945.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at eustisandcornellfuneralhome.com for Margaret’s family.
