Neil Simon’s Plaza Suite Opens Friday, March 24

Marblehead, Massachusetts - Marblehead Little Theatre’s production of Plaza Suite by Neil Simon, produced by Emily Black and directed by Steve Black with associate director Katie Meuse, runs March 24 through April 2 at Marblehead Little Theatre, 12 School Street, Marblehead, MA. Tickets can be purchased at mltlive.org.

Neil Simon, of Rumors and The Odd Couple fame, brings us yet another hilarious play that centers on three couples successively occupying a suite at the famed Plaza Hotel in New York City. Sam and Karen are trying to rekindle the romance in their twenty-three (or four?) year marriage; Jesse and Muriel are grappling with the urge to rekindle their teenage romance; and Roy and Norma are urging their daughter to go through with her wedding while navigating their own marital matters. This uproarious three-act play gives audiences a glimpse into three wildly different relationships, complete with romance, tension, and zany humor. Though set in 1968, audiences will find that the themes of this show transcend time and easily reflect the myriad forms that love, romance, and marriage take on.

The cast features real-life husband and wife Gary Ames and Stanis Ames as Sam Nash, Jesse Kiplinger, and Roy Hubley and Karen Nash, Muriel Tate, and Norma Hubley, respectively; Julia Arey as Jean McCormack and Mimsey Hubley; Jacob DeFillipo as Bellhop and Borden Eisler; and Mark Rolli as Waiter.
