THOMPSON FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES TWO NEW ENDORSEMENTS

350 Mass Action (Northshore and Statewide Chapters) and the National Association of Social Workers Massachusetts Chapter-PACE underscores Thompson’s leadership on climate action and healthcare

Marblehead—The Thompson for State Representative campaign today announced the endorsements of his candidacy for the 8th Essex District from two key organizations:  the Statewide and Northshore Chapters of the climate action advocacy organization 350 Mass Action and the National Association of Social Workers Massachusetts Chapter-PACE (NASW-MA).

350 Mass Action is an organization whose primary mission it is to address the climate crisis.  In the organization’s endorsement of Thompson, spokesperson Judith Black said “We deeply appreciate Doug’s well thought out and progressive platform on this essential issue.  From moving up decarbonization deadlines for transportation, construction, and energy production, to making massive retrofits a reality, and tying these into the need for job development, Doug understands the intersectionality of issues deeply affecting our Commonwealth.”

Alison Freeman, Chair of NASW-MA-PACE said “PACE believes that Doug Thompson will be an effective leader in the State House to bring creative solutions to problems we face. With 25 years of driving complex change, especially in healthcare programs, Doug has policy expertise to make lasting and equitable change in the Commonwealth. PACE is excited to support his campaign for the 8th Essex House of Representatives.”

“I am honored to have the support of these two organizations and their members.  Addressing the existential threat of climate change must be a top priority and we must do our part here in Massachusetts.  I am ready to roll up my sleeves and work on this issue,” Thompson said.

“The over 6200 members of NASW-MA-PACE work in healthcare, the court system, schools, nursing homes and elsewhere is critically important to making our Commonwealth healthier and more equitable and I am truly honored to have their support for my candidacy.”

Doug Thompson is running for state representative in the 8th Essex District which encompasses Marblehead, Swampscott and parts of Lynn.
